Regretful Robber Sends New York Shopkeeper Mohammad Sohail an Apology Letter and Money

SHIRLEY, N.Y. - Mohammad Sohail, the Long Island store owner who showed mercy on a thief who tried to rob his convenience store earlier this year, got a special letter that made it all worthwhile.

It contained $50 and an apology.

In May, a bat-wielding robber tried to heist Sohail's store, but Sohail pulled out a rifle and quickly turned the tables.

CHICAGO - Ever since he was laid off in March, Frank Beil has been on the lookout.

He keeps an eye out for cars moving slowly down the street or strangers walking along the sidewalk of his suburban Chicago neighborhood. He wonders about the times he answers the phone and the caller hangs up.

Nosey Robber Gets Nose Bitten Off

TUSCUMBIA, Ala. - Police in Tuscumbia, Ala., are on the lookout for a noseless robber after a man got the tip of his nose bitten off, they say, while stealing around $100 in cash from a home.

Police said a man armed with a knife and small screwdriver entered a private home about 11:30 a.m. Monday in this small town 2 1/2 hours north west of Birgmingham. He fought with two men inside, police say, and one of them bit off the tip of his nose during the struggle.

Three masked gunmen take bank manager Michelle Renee, her seven year-old daughter Breea, and their roommate Kimbra, hostage, strap dynamite to their backs, and force Michelle to hand over $360,000 from her bank. Once the hostages are released, Kimbra speaks to a 911 operator, hoping police can capture the robbers.

Obama Health Care Home Invasion

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. - The unsuspecting homeowner thought she was just letting a doctor in the house. But prosecutors say the man who came to her door wearing a stethoscope had only ill intentions.

The result, they say, was an armed robbery with two people getting shot at the Long Island, N.Y. residence.

I Know I Just Robbed You, But... Do You Wanna Date?

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Call him the ultimate ladies man. He can steal your heart and your stuff.

Ohio police say a suspect in a robbery was arrested when he returned to the home about two hours later to ask the victim out on a date.

Police say 20-year-old Stephfon Bennett was among three men who robbed a couple late Sunday.

Caught on Tape: Clerk Wins Wrestling Match With Armed Robber

NEW YORK - There must be something in the water.

Yet another brave New York store clerk managed to thwart a gun-toting robber during a caught-on-tape wrestling match that would even impress The Rock.

The courageous 21 year-old employee took two bullets to his left leg during the bitter struggle, but managed to rip the firearm out of the fleeing crook’s hands.

Direct Hit: "Grandpa Shotgun" Takes Out Four Armed Bandits

NEW YORK - Crooks better think twice when trying to hold up Charles Augusto Jr.'s New York City store. They might end up six feet under.

The 72-year-old man turned his 12-gauge shotgun on four armed bandits who tried to rob his restaurant supply store in Harlem Thursday, according to New York City police. And he is a good shot, too. He killed two and wounded the others, police said.
