SEATTLE - It's probably not the kind of "whiff" San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum wants to be known for.
Lincecum, a 2008 Cy Young Award winner, is facing misdemeanor marijuana charges following a traffic stop in his home state.
Washington State Patrol spokesman Steve Schatzel said Thursday that Lincecum, a former University of Washington star, was pulled over for speeding on Interstate 5 in the town of Hazel Dell, about four miles north of the Oregon border, on Oct. 30.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Military marijuana? The U.S. Army planned to cover a chemical weapons site with grass and weed – but not the kind of grass and weed that's actually cropping up – the kind that's illegal.
The Army made the unwanted discovery during the cleanup of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal northeast of Commerce City, Colo. Part of the cleanup includes reseeding some areas. But when that seed started to grow, marijuana popped up.

OAKLAND, Calif. Oakland residents have overwhelmingly approved a first-of-its kind measure to impose a new tax on medical marijuana sold at the city's four dispensaries.
Preliminary election results showed the measure passing with 80 percent of the vote, according to the Alameda County Registrar of Voters.

London - London police have charged 19-year-old Jamie Waylett, an actor in the Harry Potter films, with growing ten plants of cannabis, according to the Daily Telegraph.
In the Potter films, Waylett plays Vincent Crabbe, one of the cronies of Harry Potter's archenemy at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He also stars in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth film that is being released next week.
