NEW YORK - An Iraqi immigrant who fled to Mexico and London after he allegedly ran over his daughter with a Jeep because she was becoming too "Westernized," was charged Saturday with aggrivated assault in Arizona.

Faleh Almaleki was arrested Thursday for aggravated assault when he arrived at Atlanta's airport, sent from the United Kingdom after authorities denied him entrance. He was returned to the Phoenix-area city of Peoria, booked and taken to a county jail.

LONDON - Singer Leona Lewis was allegedly punched in the head as she signed autographs and posed for photographs at a book signing session in central London on Wednesday, her spokesman said.

Stuart Bell said Lewis, 24, had been meeting members of the public at Waterstone's book store in Piccadilly in central London for about 90 minutes when a man from the line came up and "whacked" her. He was immediately led away by security guards and later arrested by police.

NEW YORK - A nude photo of 10-year-old Brooke Shields has been removed from a Tate Modern exhibit in London after police looked into it as possible child pornography.

Richard Prince’s picture of the actress, titled "Spiritual America," was part of a show called "Pop Life: Art In A Material World" at the modern art museum. In the image, Shields is shown from the knees up, oiled, naked and wearing makeup. Her eyes stare directly at the viewer.

LONDON - Two well-dressed thieves walked into a London Bond Street jewelry store last week and, after brandishing handguns at shop workers, made off with $66 million worth of gems in one of Britain's biggest jewelry heists, police said.

Security camera footage released by police Tuesday shows two men in crisp suits entering Graff Diamonds' flagship store Thursday afternoon. It was the third time a Graff store in London had been targeted in a high-profile raid in the past six years.

LONDON - Elle magazine says London police are investigating allegations that jewelry was stolen after an Elle fashion shoot featuring actress Lindsay Lohan.

London's Metropolitan police confirmed that a necklace and earrings worth around 250,000 pounds ($411,316) were missing from a studio in north London in early June.

- French officials are on the look-out for a British man who allegedly fled a luxury Paris hotel where the body of a wealthy Polish woman was found on Tuesday.

According to a story in the London Times, French police are looking for Ian Griffin, who witnesses say drove away from the Hotel Bristol in a Porsche sports car just before the body was found in what appeared to be a violent scene.

London (AP) London police have discovered a woman's corpse in a home freezer 20 years after her death. They're now questioning the woman's 83-year-old daughter.

Britain's Press Association news agency says police searched the home of Daulat Irani 10 days after a neighbour reported that there might be a body in the garage.

Police believe the dead woman, Gulbai Murzdan, died 20 years ago.
