WICHITA, Kan. - Defiant and unapologetic, a man accused of shooting a Kansas abortion provider confessed to the slaying Monday, telling The Associated Press that he killed the doctor to protect unborn children.

Scott Roeder, 51, of Kansas City, Missouri, spoke to the AP in a telephone call from jail, saying he plans to argue at his trial that he was justified in shooting Dr. George Tiller.

Missing Woman Keighley Ann Alyea Found Dead, Three Arrested

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Police say the body of 18-year-old Keighley Ann Alyea who had been missing for nearly a week has been found in a rural Cass County, Mo., farm field.

Police spokesman Jim Weaver says three men have been arrested in the death of the Overland Park woman, but he gave no further details.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A heated argument over hot sauce ended in murder.

A Kansas City man has been sentenced to 33 years in prison for killing a man in a hail of gunfire during a melee that erupted when someone threw a bottle of hot sauce.
