Lawrence Taylor Arrested in Traffic Accident

(Miami-Dade County Corrections)
NEW YORK - NFL great Lawrence Taylor looks like he needs a time out — to nap.

Yankees Hot, Tim Lincecum Not! San Francisco Giants Pitcher Busted for Pot

(AP Photo/Jeff Chiu)
SEATTLE - It's probably not the kind of "whiff" San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum wants to be known for.

Lincecum, a 2008 Cy Young Award winner, is facing misdemeanor marijuana charges following a traffic stop in his home state.

Washington State Patrol spokesman Steve Schatzel said Thursday that Lincecum, a former University of Washington star, was pulled over for speeding on Interstate 5 in the town of Hazel Dell, about four miles north of the Oregon border, on Oct. 30.

(AP Photo/Louis Lanzano)
NEW YORK - He was a former Super Bowl hero, but Plaxico Burress was brought down a notch Tuesday when he apologized to his family, tearfully kissed his wife and young son goodbye, and was led away to prison to begin serving a two-year sentence on a weapons charge.

Paper: NFL Giant Antonio Pierce May Face Gun Charge

(AP Photo/Mike Derer)
NEW YORK - New York Giants star linebacker Antonio Pierce may face a gun possession indictment. His fate rests with a New York grand jury, according to the New York Post.

The threat of an indictment endangers Pierce's status for the upcoming NFL season. Pierce, a pro-bowler who led the Giant's defense to a Super Bowl victory in 2008, is a key component to any chance the team may have of returning to the championships.
