NEW YORK - Charlene Lugar, wife of U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., has been charged with drunken driving and hit-and-run after hitting a parked car in northern Virginia.

Fairfax County Police say an officer stopped 76-year-old Charlene Lugar Wednesday evening at a McLean intersection after seeing damage to her car and smoke coming from the hood. Police later determined that she also hit an unattended parked car about two miles away from the traffic stop.

LOS ANGELES - Alexandra Forbes Kerry, daughter of Sen. John Kerry, has been arrested in Hollywood for allegedly hitting the sauce before she hit the road.

Los Angeles police say 36-year-old Alexandra Kerry was stopped by officers on a Hollywood street after midnight Thursday and failed a sobriety test.

NEW YORK - Yet another U.S. pilot has been found behaving badly, and this time authorities did something about it before the plane took off.

A United Airlines pilot was pulled from a plane and arrested shortly before takeoff after a co-worker suspected him of being drunk, police and airline officials said Tuesday.

NEW YORK - A Boston woman who fell onto train tracks is lucky to be alive, and two transit workers have been honored for keeping her out of harm's way.

The woman, whose name was not released, toppled onto the tracks just before a subway car pulled into the station -- somehow screeching to a halt, without running her over.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NFL star Steve McNair, who died in a murder-suicide with his mistress at a Nashville condo, helped pay for a different apartment occupied by another woman, court and utility records show.

Authorities said McNair was shot by 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi on July 4 before she shot herself. Friends said Kazemi suspected McNair was having a second affair with another young woman. McNair was also married.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - A woman who police said was drunk while breast-feeding her baby and holding the infant upside down has been ordered to jail after a run-in with police led to two new criminal charges.

Stacey Anvarinia had been given the chance to get treatment and avoid jail after pleading guilty last Friday to child neglect. Police arrested her hours later at her apartment in Grand Forks.

NEW YORK - Two families who lost loved ones in the horrific wrong-way crash on New York's Taconic Parkway July 26 aim to hold a gathering to share their common grief, according to the New York Daily News.

The Hance family lost their three young daughters when Warren Hance's sister, Diane Schuler, 36, crashed her minivan into Michael and Guy Bastardi's SUV while driving the wrong way on the Taconic Parkway.

NEW YORK - The husband of a woman who had high levels of alcohol and marijuana in her system when she smashed into an SUV killing eight, including her daughter, three nieces and herself, choked back tears during a Thursday press conference and said "She was a perfect wife, outstanding mother…I would marry her again tomorrow."
