The tape was admitted as evidence in the Los Angeles drug conspiracy case against her boyfriend Stern, and two doctors who are accused of supplying drugs to the nude model until her untimely death. However, the judge won't allow the tape to be played in court.

LOS ANGELES - They want to hear from the father.

The California preliminary hearing into Anna Nicole Smith's drug-overdose death is now in full swing, and next up on the stand is the father of the celebrity model's daughter.

Defense attorneys said they had been notified by the prosecution that Larry Birkhead, the musician who proved he was the father of Smith's daughter by DNA testing, would be among those called to testify Wednesday, the second day of a preliminary hearing for two doctors and Smith's former attorney-boyfriend, Howard K. Stern.

LOS ANGELES - Anna Nicole Smith's two doctors and lawyer-boyfriend are all due in court this week to hear testimony about their alleged roles in supplying drugs that killed the celebrity model.

A preliminary hearing for the trio is scheduled to start Tuesday, and court officials have said it could last two to four weeks. The hearing will determine whether there is enough evidence to order a trial for Howard Stern, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich.

LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles pharmacist told Anna Nicole Smith's internist that the drugs the internist prescribed to the model after her son died were "pharmaceutical suicide," according to unsealed documents written by state officials.

Smith's doctors were warned about prescription drugs by three pharmacists, according to unsealed affidavits obtained Monday by the Los Angeles Times.
