LOS ANGELES - It is safe to say that when Tom Sparks signed up to be a contestant on the game show "Wipeout" he had no idea what would follow his participation in the ABC primetime show.

The former radio disc jockey was hospitalized after competing in the first segment of an obstacle course Oct. 19, and ultimately died two weeks later of a stroke apparently caused by a rare condition, according to his father.

New York - It's August and that means it's time to meet the new cast of "Dancing with the Stars." But this year's group of entrants has an unusual twist. Seven of the 16 hopefuls have had brushes with the law.

While the show is sometimes seen as an opportunity to give new life to flagging careers or to rehabilitate tarnished images, the question now is whether the show can clean up the police records of this year's dancing hopefuls.
