"Dark Knight" Director's Brother Accused of Planning Batman-Style Escape

CHICAGO - The brother of the director of "The Dark Knight" was apparently planning his own Batman-style escape from the Metropolitan Correctional Center, according to CBS station WBBM.

Matthew Nolan, the brother of "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan, is being held at the prison, accused of a murder in Costa Rica.

Caught on Tape: Inmates to the Rescue!

TAMPA, Fla. – Inmates to the rescue!

A case of role-reversal was caught on security video at a Tampa, Florida jail. Four inmates came to the aid of a guard at the Orient Road Jail, after he was attacked by another prisoner.

The inmates helped save 64-year-old detention deputy Kenneth Moon on Monday afternoon after prisoner Douglas Burden charged him, put him in a choke hold and began strangling him.

Swine Flu Vaccine For Prisoners? Don't Hold Your Breath in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA - When it comes to getting the swine flu vaccine, prison inmates in Oklahoma would seem to have... no shot.

Prison officials in the Sooner State have asked for about 15,000 doses of the vaccine, but state health officials have stamped it "request denied."

They're not feeling too guilty about it either.

Carla Hughes' Parents Beg For Her Life, Jury Responds

CANTON, Miss. - A Madison County jury of nine women and three men could have sentenced Carla Hughes to death for the brutal 2006 slaying of a pregnant woman who was her romantic rival.

But Carla Hughes' parents begged the jury to spare her life Wednesday during the sentencing phase of the capital murder trial. The jury listened; then, they sentenced Carla Hughes to prison for the rest of her life.

Was Rapper Shyne Released from Prison?

NEW YORK - A Clinton Correctional Facility staffer told Crimesider that New York Rapper Shyne was released from prison today after serving more than eight years for his role in a 1999 New York night club shooting involving mentor Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and actress Jennifer Lopez.

But a late Monday report from MTV News says that the Combs protégé remains in custody at an "unspecified facility in Western New York State," while U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement decides his fate.
