NEW YORK - "This is ridiculous. Not a word of it is true," Rachel Uchitel told the New York Post on Tuesday in response to rumors that she was having an affair with golf great Tiger Woods. She even offered to take a lie-detector test to prove it.
Uchitel has suffered in the last few days as major news organizations have regurgitated a tabloid story that claimed the New York nightclub hostess and the world's greatest golfer were romantically involved and that a Nov. 29 car accident outside Wood's Ilseworth, Fla., home occurred in the aftermath of his wife, Elin Nordegren, finding out. That accident is currently under police investigation.

NEW YORK - As Tiger Woods works to repair his scratched face and ruined car after a Nov. 29 car accident outside his Ilseworth, Fla. home, the golf great is also working to repair his image amidst tabloid-fueled rumors that the crash, now being investigated by police, occurred after his wife discovered an alleged affair with party promoter and Sept. 11 mourner Rachel Uchitel.
"Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible," Woods said in a statement released on his Web site.

CLEVELAND - More than a dozen steamy photos of all-star center fielder Grady Sizemore have made their way to Web sites across the Internet, but the Cleveland Indians star complains the shots were "stolen" from his girlfriend's e-mail and says that he is taking legal action.
Sizemore said that the nearly-nude pictures, including one where he is completely naked except for a tea cup covering his privates, were only meant for his girlfriend Playboy playmate Brittany Binger.

NEW YORK - Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean made a short but dramatic appearance on Larry King Live Wednesday, in which she refused to answer an openly gay caller and threatened to walk off the show, after King demanded to know why she and Miss California pageant organizers recently settled dueling lawsuits.
"You sued the pageant after they fired you, they countersued, and then you accused them of a number of things including religious discrimination, clearly an issue important to you," King asked. "Why did you settle? You don't have to tell me the terms of the settlement, but why settle since you had a fight to carry on?"
