VIDEO COURTESY OF CBS AFFILIATE KVAL

PORTLAND, Ore. - A 25-year-old former medical assistant on probation for a similar crime laced her breast milk with morphine and fed it to her 2-month-old daughter in an effort to attract the attention of the child's father, authorities alleged Thursday.

Sarah Rose Dillard-Lubin, of Aloha, was on probation from California for feeding her son, who was 10 months old at the time, two opiate pills, officials said.

Did Keeping Their Faith Kill Their Child?

(AP Photo/Randy L. Rasmussen)
OREGON CITY, Ore. - A few days after her toddler died, Raylene Worthington told detectives that the child had been choking on phlegm.

But on the witness stand Monday, accused of using prayer instead of medicine to heal her increasingly ill child, Worthington said she didn't remember the 15-month-old girl choking at all.

Worthington contested or said she didn't remember several points from interviews with police on the night of the death and two days later.

Dad Who Chose Prayer Over Doctors ‘Shocked' by Daughters Death

(iStockphoto)
OREGON CITY, Ore. - Carl and Raylene Worthington, parents of a 15-month old daughter, Ava, put their faith in spiritual healing, when their child got sick. Now the couple is on trial for manslaughter and criminal mistreatment for the infant’s death.

Carl Brent Worthington testified Friday that in the hours before his daughter died of pneumonia, he didn't lose his faith, which he called a gift from God. But Worthington wouldn't say whether he would have done anything differently or taken the 15-month-old to a doctor last year.

Parents Face Manslaughter Charges For Choosing Prayer Over Doctors

(AP Photo/Doug Beghtel)
OREGON CITY, Ore. - When their daughter grew sick with pneumonia, Carl and Raylene Worthington, prosecutors say, did not take the child to the hospital. Instead, they prayed for the 15-month-old because of religious beliefs. Ava ultimately died and now the couple faces manslaughter charges in what is now being labeled as a prayer death.

Alleged Mom Killer May Have Contacted Other Pregnant Women

(AP Photo/The Kidd family)
HILLSBORO, Ore. - A woman accused of killing an expectant mother and cutting her child from the womb may have contacted other pregnant women in the weeks before she settled on a victim, detectives say.

The new details emerged as prosecutors awaited autopsy results to determine if the child ever drew a breath, the legal threshold in Oregon to determine whether murder charges can be brought against 27-year-old Korena Roberts in the baby's death. Prosecutors will have to decide by Monday, the deadline for a grand jury indictment and Roberts' next scheduled court appearance.

Baby Cut From Woman’s Womb In Slaying

(AP Photo/The Kidd family)
HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) Korena Roberts sifted through her neighbor's rummage sale until she pulled out an item that caught her eye: a blue stroller decorated with teddy bears.

Her neighbor, Wendy Pursinger, asked why she needed it. Roberts' two children had long outgrown being pushed in a baby carriage.

“I'm pregnant, of course,” Roberts told Pursinger.

PORTLAND, Ore. - Police are trying to unravel a gruesome mystery in Washington County that’s left a mother and recent newborn dead. According to police, Korena Elaine Roberts, 27, called 911 claiming her newborn child was not breathing.
