Police had pegged Bradford as the man responsible for robbing two men at gunpoint Oct. 17 in the Brooklyn housing project where he lives. Bradford spent 12 days in jail on Riker's Island pleading his innocence, but it wasn't until his family produced a Facebook update message Bradford wrote on his father's computer in Harlem - eight miles from the holdup - that police were willing to listen.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed: Can New York Handle Self-Proclaimed Sept. 11 Mastermind?

(AP Photo/www.muslm.net)
WASHINGTON - The last time self-proclaimed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's alleged influence was felt in New York City, two jetliners smashed into the Twin Towers, nearly 3000 died, and a nation came to a standstill of mourning and shock.

Anger followed, as did two wars in far off lands.

Now Mohammed is coming back to the city he allegedly attacked to face a federal civilian jury. He will be tried in a courthouse just blocks from where the towers once stood.

(Family Photo)
NEW YORK - Diane Schuler, the suburban New York mother who died in a wrong-way crash that killed three other adults and four children in July, was seen twice doubled over on the side of the road, "getting sick," witnesses told state police investigators in documents released to CBS affiliate WCBS.

Police told WCBS that this information supports a new theory of the fateful night -- that Schuler, who smoked marijuana regularly according to her sister-in-law, but did not drink often, was overcome by the 10 shots of vodka she drank during her deadly drive.
