WINDERMERE, Fla. - Was Tiger Woods drunk or on drugs when he plowed his SUV into a fire hydrant and a tree? According to a police report released Monday Dec. 7, the truth may never be known, because a Florida trooper's blood test request was shot down by prosecutors.

The trooper, who suspected Woods was driving under the influence Nov. 27, sought a subpoena for the golfer's blood results from the hospital he was taken to after the crash, but prosecutors rejected the petition due to insufficient information, according to the report.

LUCASVILLE, Ohio - The Ohio execution of convicted killer Kenneth Biros on Tuesday became the first U.S. lethal injection using a single drug, a supposedly less painful method than previous executions with three drugs.

"Now I am paroled to my Father in heaven, and I will spend all my holidays with my Lord and Savior," Biros said, according to the Columbus Dispatch. "Peace be with you."

NEW YORK - Maybe Jeremy Olson should have practiced with a target before attempting to pelt Sarah Palin with tomatoes at a book signing in Minnesota Dec. 7.

Olson, 33, who police say has no permanent address, was arrested at the Mall of America in Minn. after two tomatoes meant for Sarah Palin failed to hit their mark and landed squarely on two Bloomington police officers, according to Commander of Professional Standards Mark Stehlik. Commander Stehlik said that Olson’s aim was off by "maybe ten feet to the left, it wasn't close to her."

NEW YORK - Porn star Janine Lindemulder, who has been fighting a custody battle with her ex-husband, reality television star Jesse James, and his current wife, Sandra Bullock, lost another round Monday when a California court denied her request for "expanded visitation rights," according to the Los Angeles Times.

James has had sole guardianship of the 5-year-old girl since the adult actress and director was jailed for tax evasion.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Jamie Serich and Colin Hart were two Ohio high school seniors, found shot to death as they lay next to each other in a local cemetery.

But was this tragedy a murder or a suicide-pact?

That is what police are trying to figure out in the small city of Boardman, Ohio, just outside of Youngstown.

Serich, 17, and Hart, 18, were both students at Cardinal Mooney High School, whose football team just won the Ohio Division III championship Friday - its seventh state title.

WINDERMERE, Fla. - A rescue call was made early Tuesday morning to Tiger Woods' home, according to Orange County fire officials. An ambulance arrived, but it's not known who was taken to a nearby hospital.

Orange County firefighters went to Deacon Circle in the exclusive subdivision of Isleworth at about 2:35 a.m. after authorities received a medical call from Woods' home.

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut - Sandra Herold, the New Haven, Conn. woman whose 200-pound chimpanzee tore off her friend Charla Nash's face, won't face charges, according to a person with direct knowledge of the investigation.

State's Attorney David Cohen refused to comment ahead of a news conference scheduled for Monday afternoon, but the person with knowledge of the investigation said no charges are planned against Herold.

SHIRLEY, N.Y. - Mohammad Sohail, the Long Island store owner who showed mercy on a thief who tried to rob his convenience store earlier this year, got a special letter that made it all worthwhile.

It contained $50 and an apology.

In May, a bat-wielding robber tried to rob Sohail's store, but Sohail pulled out a rifle and quickly turned the tables.

NEW YORK - Audrey Johnson, a longtime former companion of NBA All-Star Lloyd "World" B. Free, was killed in Brooklyn while trying to stop an assault outside her family's home.

Police said 51-year-old Johnson had just come back home when she heard about a confrontation on the sidewalk in front of her home. She came outside to see what was happening.
