D.C. Sniper John Allen Muhammed's Execution Going Forward; Appeal Thwarted by Supreme Court

NEW YORK - The U.S. Supreme Court has denied a request to block Tuesday's execution of Washington, D.C. sniper mastermind John Allen Muhammed.

The Court did not issue a statement Monday on why it refused to consider his appeal.

Bare-Skinned Beach-Goers Told to Suit Up

That’s California's highest court is allowing state officials to tell sunbathers who enjoy public beaches in the buff.

The state can now punished nudists for enjoying nature unclad even in areas informally designated as "clothing optional."

Will Supreme Court Help Convicted Enron CEO Jeff Skilling Go Free?

WASHINGTON (CBS/AP) - Will the Supreme Court help disgraced former Enron CEO Jeff Skilling bust out of jail?

Skilling was convicted for his role in the collapse of the one-time energy giant. Now the highest court in the land says it will consider throwing out the convictions of the former Enron Chief Executive Officer. That could lead to a new trial, which, if he wins it, would set the fallen energy king-ping free.

Phillip Garrido Tells FBI He Can Stop Schizophrenics from Turning Violent

NEW YORK - Phillip Garrido, the man accused of kidnapping and impregnating Jaycee Lee Dugard and convicted of raping another woman thirty years ago, dropped off his personal manifesto with the FBI a mere four days before he was arrested for allegedly holding Dugard prisoner in his backyard for 18 years.

In the document, entitled “Origin of Schizophrenia Revealed," Garrido claims to have a solution to stop schizophrenics from becoming violent.

Oprah School Staffer in Court for Abusing Students

SEBOKENG, South Africa - The prosecution finished presenting witnesses Wednesday in the case of a woman accused of abusing six teenagers at Oprah Winfrey's school for poor South African girls, presenting a picture of a short-tempered, jealous young woman.

The testimony from the last prosecution witnesses wrapped up the first stage of the trial, which began more than a year ago.

Guilty: Ex-Giant Plaxico Burress Pleads In Weapons Case

NEW YORK - Former New York Giant Plaxico Burress pleaded guilty Thursday to a weapons charge and agreed to a two-year prison term for accidentally shooting himself at a Manhattan nightclub.

The ex-wide receiver pleaded guilty to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a lesser charge than he initially faced. Under a plea agreement, he agreed to a two-year prison sentence and two years of supervised release.

Rape Uproar: 9-Year Olds Charged With Assaulting 8-Year-Old Will Stay in Juvy Detention

PHOENIX - They are 9-year-old boys, charged with raping an 8-year old girl – an alleged attack that has raised international tensions. The two boys, the youngest of four accused in the July 16 incident, were ordered Wednesday to remain in juvenile detention with restricted visitors, as Liberia's deputy ambassador to the U.S. arrived in Phoenix, AZ., hoping to speak to them.
