Caged Outrage: Kids Sue Adoptive Parents Michael and Sharen Gravelle for Keeping Them Caged Up

CLEVELAND - It is the kind of case that can give a bad name to a noble cause.

Two adopted Ohio teenagers, whose adoptive parents forced them to sleep in cages, have now sued the couple and the caseworkers who arranged their placement.

The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court in Cleveland on behalf of 18-year-old Sharen Torrence and 17-year-old Michael Gravelle.

North Dakota Woman Accused of Broadcasting Porn Out Window Near Grade School

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - File this one in the "just a bad idea" file, but a North Dakota woman is accused of showing a pornographic video out the window of her home, which is near an elementary school.

Grand Forks police do not yet have a motive, but they say that 37-year-old Nicole Altendorf also bit an officer's arm and kicked him several times in the groin as he tried arrest her Friday.

Dog Fighting at Daycare Center: Did the Children See?

CHICAGO RIDGE, Ill. - Blood spattered the garage of a home day care that was also the base of an alleged dog fighting ring, authorities said Wednesday, describing battered and malnourished dogs and the devices used to train them found not far from where children played.

Three men were charged Wednesday, including the day care operator's husband, and authorities were seeking two others. Authorities had initially said four people had been arrested.

Man Slaps Child in Walmart

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Have a baby that just won't stop crying in public? Better make sure that Roger Stephens isn’t around!

Police say that the 61-year-old man, who was annoyed with a crying 2-year-old girl at a suburban Atlanta Walmart, slapped the child several times after warning the toddler's mother to keep her quiet.

A police report says after the stranger hit the girl at least four times, he said: "See, I told you I would shut her up."

Forensic Psych: Does Phillip Garrido Really Believe His Kids Cured Him of Pedophilia?

ATLANTA - How could four individuals, two of them captors and one of them an abducted little girl, come to live together as a family unit for eighteen years? If police have it right, not only did Phillip Garrido, Nancy Garrido, Jaycee Lee Dugard and Garrido's mother live as a family unit, but Phillip Garrido and Jaycee Lee Dugard also had two daughters together (now 11 and 15 years old).

Forensic psychiatrist Mathew W. Norman ponders what was going on inside the Garrido's alleged house of horrors.

Report: "I Molested My Grandchildren"

NEWBERRY, S.C. - A South Carolina man was recovering in a Columbia hospital Wednesday after a weekend attack by his own children, who say he molested his grandchildren.

Newberry Police Chief Jackie Swindler said the 54-year-old man is still recovering and has yet not been charged. Newberry County sheriff's deputies say he will face charges involving criminal sexual conduct with a minor and a lewd act on a child.

Mystery Continues for Christian Counselors Murdered in Sleeping Bag

SANTA ROSA, Calif. - When police killed Joseph Henry Burgess in a shootout last week, they thought the answer to a string of murder mysteries might be at hand.

First on their list was a young couple working at a Christian summer camp who were murdered in their sleeping bag in 2004 on a beach in northern California. Jason Allen, 26, and his fiancee Lindsay Cutshall, 22, had everything going for them. When they turned up dead, a number of people were questioned. Burgess, a religious zealot who disapproved of relationships between unmarried couples, was one of the "persons of interest."

Young Lovers Murdered in Sleeping Bags – DNA Hopes to Find a Killer

SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Two couples fatally shot more than 30 years apart while camping in different countries may have been victims of the same man: a drifter who authorities say was a religious zealot and disapproved of relationships between unmarried couples.

Joseph Henry Burgess, 62, who died in a July 16 shootout with New Mexico sheriff's deputies, had been wanted in Canada as a suspect in the 1972 murders of two university students on a Vancouver Island beach, and may be linked to more killings.
