HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. - When Jamar Pinkney Sr. heard his 15-year-old son, Jamar Pinkney Jr., had sexual contact with a 3-year-old girl, he made the teen strip at gunpoint, marched him to a vacant lot and shot him to death despite pleas from the boy and his mother, a relative said.

NEWARK, N.J. - A small-time actor and former children's entertainer who was known for playing Santa Claus was sentenced Monday to nearly 20 years in prison for his role in an international sex tourism ring that preyed on young children.
Wayne Nelson Corliss, whose 2008 arrest was the culmination of an international manhunt, had admitted traveling to Thailand three times between 2000 and 2002 to have sex with at least two boys, ages 6 and 9.

LEXINGTON, Mo. - Police investigating a western Missouri family accused of sexually abusing children are now searching a family property for dead bodies. They are also looking for buried glass jars, which the alleged victims say contain notes documenting their sexual abuse years ago.
Lafayette County Sheriff Kerrick Alumbaugh said there has been an indication of "body or bodies in numerous locations," although he would not say whose bodies they might be.

PHILADELPHIA - He was a longtime Ivy League professor who preyed on vulnerable teenage boys at home and abroad as he pursued them for sexual encounters and pornographic videos, prosecutors argued at his sentencing Tuesday.
Lawrence Scott Ward, 66, was sentenced to 25 years for manufacturing child pornography and lying to authorities to get one of his young victims into the U.S. He also must pay $100,000 restitution and remain on probation for life.
