Facebook Alibi Frees Brooklyn Man Rodney Bradford from Jail

(CBS/Lisa Riordan Seville)
NEW YORK - Rodney Bradford, a 19-year-old New Yorker, has Facebook and a desire for pancakes to thank for his freedom.

Police had pegged Bradford as the man responsible for robbing two men at gunpoint Oct. 17 in the Brooklyn housing project where he lives. Bradford spent 12 days in jail on Riker's Island pleading his innocence, but it wasn't until his family produced a Facebook update message Bradford wrote on his father's computer in Harlem - eight miles from the holdup - that police were willing to listen.

(AP/YouTube Video)
Story contributed by 48 Hours Mystery special consultant Paul Ciolino.

NEW YORK - The Elizabeth Lambert video, which is making the rounds, is a fascinating inside look at Woman’s Division One Soccer. I’m not sure that if this were Division One men’s soccer anyone would be making a fuss. Because we have an attractive and I might add aggressive female player this has become a phenomenon.

Stephanie Birkitt (Photo) Secret Diary at Center of Letterman Sex Extortion, Say Cops

(CBS)
NEW YORK (CBS/AP) - The pages of Stephanie Birkitt's personal diary were presumably not meant for the eyes of her former lover, David Letterman, or a recent one, long-time CBS News producer Robert "Joe" Halderman.

But it was pages copied from the diary, that were the centerpiece of Halderman's plan to extort $2 million from the late night king, threatening to expose his office sexcapades if he did not comply, according to law enforcement officials.

(AP Photo, file)
TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - A body found Sunday in the Hudson River likely is that of a woman who jumped from the Tappan Zee Bridge last week, 15 years after her stepfather leaped to his death from the bridge following a brutal family killing, police said.

State Police Sgt. Todd Parent said they believe the body belongs to Anne Morell Petrillo, a daughter of slain newspaper heiress Anne Scripps Douglas, the great-great-granddaughter of The Detroit News founder James E. Scripps.
