Shaniya Davis Funeral Video: Father Bradley Lockhart Said God "Did This for a Reason."

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - More than 2000 people joined Shaniya Davis' father, Bradley Lockhart, Sunday, at an emotional funeral for the North Carolina 5-year-old, who, police say, was raped, murdered, then thrown in a pile of trash bags and deer carcasses like she was someone's garbage.

"Don't let God's words and don't let his actions get you down," Lockhart told the packed congregation. "He did this for a reason."

"Kick a Ginger" Middle School Beating Inspired by South Park?

NEW YORK - Police in Southern California say an attack Friday on a redheaded middle school student may have been inspired by an episode of "South Park."

Authorities say a 12-year-old boy was assaulted by a group of middle school classmates in Calabasas who may have targeted him after an Internet posting urged students to beat up redheads.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Richard Erickson says the boy, who has red hair and freckles, was kicked and hit in two incidents Friday at A.E. Wright Middle School in Calabasas. As many as 14 students participated in the attacks.

Elizabeth Olten Murder Suspect, Alyssa Bustamante, Sent to Mental Hospital

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Alyssa Bustamante, the 15-year-old accused of killing her 9-year-old neighbor Elizabeth Olten, was sent to a mental hospital after her lawyer said she showed signs of severe depression and anxiety.

A judge ordered Bustamante to be taken to the Fulton State Hospital for up to 96 hours, but it was unclear exactly when that clock started. The order by Cole County Circuit Judge Patricia Joyce is dated Thursday but did not have a time stamp; it was released Friday.

Michael Brewer's Parents: Boy Burned by Bullies Still Asks for Water to Douse Flames

MIAMI - His story captured the attention of the South Florida community and the world. A 15-year-old boy set on fire by five teenage friends in a dispute over money. Michael Brewer suffered burns over two-thirds of his body and now, his parents and grandmother have spoken exclusively to CBS affiliate WFOR reporter Shannon Hori.

His parents say their son hasn't been able to fully grasp what happened to him. But even with all the drugs he's on for the pain, he has horrible flashbacks. He asks for water in order to put out the flames.

Jamar Pinkney Sr. Strips Son Naked, Then Executes Him for Molesting 3-Year-Old, Says Relative

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. - When Jamar Pinkney Sr. heard his 15-year-old son, Jamar Pinkney Jr., had sexual contact with a 3-year-old girl, he made the teen strip at gunpoint, marched him to a vacant lot and shot him to death despite pleas from the boy and his mother, a relative said.

Michigan authorities filed a first-degree murder charge Wednesday against the 37-year-old father in the shooting death Monday of Jamar Pinkney Jr. in the Detroit enclave of Highland Park.

Investigators have now released that video and others, including Dalia Dippolito's shocking interrogation by police, along with 400 pages of documents.

Wild Police Chase for Alleged N.C. Bank Robber Carlos Burns

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A man who allegedly robbed a Charlotte, N.C. bank took Highway Patrol troopers on a high speed chase Tuesday afternoon.

Turns out the suspect, 29-year-old Carlos DeShawn Burns, had a prior conviction for a more serious offense.

The Tuesday incident started just before 2 p.m. when a Wachovia Bank on West Sugar Creek Road in Charlotte was robbed and Burns took off, according to the FBI.

Viral Video Furor: Smiling Teens On Apparent Minneapolis Mugging Spree

MINNEAPOLIS - Police are looking into a viral video that appears to show a group of teenage boys engaged in a mugging spree in Minneapolis and St. Paul, while showing anything but remorse.

The YouTube video shows the boys smiling as they attack a man on a bike, a jogger and some young kids.

The "stars" of the video, which was posted on YouTube but was subsequently removed Tuesday afternoon, make no attempt to hide their identities.

Police: No New Charges for Shaniya Davis' Death ...For Now

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Investigators handling the death of Shaniya Davis say they can't file any more charges until they decide where the crimes took place.

Fayetteville police had said they planned to file more charges in Shaniya's death, the 5-year-old North Carolina girl whose body was found Monday beside a rural highway in Lee County.

But Police Chief Tom Bergamine said Wednesday they won't file more charges until jurisdiction is determined.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - When Shaniya Davis, the 5-year-old girl found dead in rural North Carolina, went to live for the first time with her mother, Antoinette Davis, alarm bells went off for the little girl's aunt.

"Antoinette and I never really got along because of the way that she neglected her children," Carey Lockhart-Davis said. "I feel robbed. I feel that Shaniya was robbed."
