Photographer Robert Fogarty watched the destruction of Superstorm Sandy from his home in New Orleans. Five weeks after the storm, he and director of photography David Reece, traveled to the Breezy Point neighborhood of Queens, New York - an area hit particularly hard by the storm, to gather portraits.
For three years, Fogarty has asked the subjects of his photographs to share one meaningful message with family, friends and strangers, for his ongoing project "Dear World"
"I think 'Dear World' portraits can be a way to document a significant and historic event, which Sandy was," Fogarty told CBS News.
