WH: Egypt Events Fluid; No Confirmation On Mubarak

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (AP) - White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says developments remain fluid in Egypt and he is not confirming reports that President Hosni Mubarak is leaving office.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Gibbs said President Barack Obama is monitoring events and met national security adviser Tom Donilon before leaving Thursday morning for an event in Michigan.

Gibbs' comments came shortly after CIA chief Leon Panetta said there is a "strong likelihood" Mubarak will step down Thursday.

In Egypt, the military announced that Mubarak will meet their demands in the strongest indication yet that Egypt's longtime leader has lost power.

Said Gibbs: "I don't know what the outcome of what is happening will be."
