Lt. Joe Balicki, spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff's department, said Young, 23, was arrested Friday night in San Clemente, a city located about sixty miles southeast of Los Angeles.
According to Balicki, Young ran from police and put up a fight when they tried to detain him.
Young was charged with attempted burglary, assault of a police officer and resisting arrest. He remains in custody with bail set at $75,000.
The former Lions player was arrested last Sunday after being suspected of drunk driving. He was arrested the same day after trying to remove his vehicle from a tow yard.
Young was drafted by the Lions in 2011 but was released from the team in February for insubordinate behavior and fighting with his teammates.
