Religious Freedom

Indiana's largest newspaper is calling out lawmakers in an editorial to change the new controversial "religious freedom" law. So far, at least nine top Indiana business executives have called on Gov. Mike Pence to reform the legislation, which critics say gives businesses a free pass to discriminate against gays and lesbians. CBS News Correspondent Adriana Diaz reports protesters scored a small victory yesterday night in their fight when the Indianapolis city council passed a resolution urging lawmakers to either repeal the legislation or amend it.

Nuclear deal?

As U.S. diplomats and their partners from the other five global powers taking place in the talks pressured Iran to accept a U.S.-brokered deal that would constrain its nuclear program for around 15 years, Western diplomats told CBS News Correspondent Margaret Brennan even yesterday that an extension of a few hours or even a few days past the midnight deadline was possible. But the talk of a possible extension hasn't stopped both sides from staking out hardline positions ahead of the Tuesday night deadline, reports Brennan, and with just hours to go, Iranian negotiators were playing hardball.

Pilot screening

How could someone once diagnosed with suicidal tendencies get a job as a commercial pilot, entrusted with the lives of hundreds of people? CBS News correspondent Allen Pizzey reports that's the question being asked after officials confirmed yesterday that Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz received lengthy psychotherapy before receiving his pilot's license.

Gay ballot initiative

There are calls this morning in California to reform the state's ballot initiative process. A proposed measure calls for the killing of people who participate in sodomy. CBS News Correspondent Ben Tracy reports on how California's system lets ideas get to the ballot box that wouldn't get off the ground in other states.

Exploding head syndrome

Maybe it's happened to you: You're lying in bed happily drifting off to sleep when suddenly you're jolted awake by a startlingly loud noise that turns out to be just in your head. The experience can be scary, and doctors have given it the alarming-sounding name "exploding head syndrome." Now the largest study of its kind has found that this bizarre sleep disorder is much more common than previously believed.

Cancer alarm

A new analysis of breast cancer is giving doctors and patients a wealth of information geared at helping to diagnose and treat the disease. The data was presented in a report indicates black women have nearly twice the rate of triple negative breast cancer -- the deadliest form -- as white women and have the highest mortality rate from any form of breast cancer. Researchers point to a number of factors.

Tipping point

It used to be that tips were reserved for sit-down restaurants, where the bills would include a line for customers to write in their tips for their waitstaff. But with the advent of mobile payment services such as Apple Pay, the cash tip jar is getting shelved at restaurants where counter service is the norm. Customers are increasingly asked to choose a tip amount to add to their payment, which is driving up tipping at even bare-boned restaurants without table service. And you may be surprised how large the tips are getting.

Working actress

If her life took another path, Debi Mazar may have been a makeup artist with her own successful line of cosmetics. Instead, Mazar is a successful working actress, who appeared in the films "Goodfellas" and "Batman Forever" and graced the small screen in HBO's "Entourage." And since 2011, she's co-hosted the Cooking Channel's "Extra Virgin" series with her husband, Gabriele Corcos. Now she getting ready for her next series.
