MH370?

Investigators said they had a "high degree of certainty" today that aircraft wreckage found on an island in the western Indian Ocean is a wing component unique to a Boeing 777, the same model plane as Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which mysteriously vanished more than a year ago with 239 people on board. CBS News correspondent Seth Doane reports authorities are calling it a "significant development," but they caution it's still too early to know if the debris is a piece of MH370.

NASA plane crash testing

While the world is waiting to learn more about the possible piece of wreckage of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, NASA is on a dramatic mission of its own, involving small plane crashes. The space agency wants to improve the tiny transmitters on board designed to alert satellites within seconds of an accident. CBS News correspondent Kris Van Cleave reports from NASA's Langley Research Center in Virginia, where they are crashing planes to find answers.

Peaceful protests

An indictment of a white University of Cincinnati police officer for the alleged murder of an unarmed black man during a traffic stop sparked peaceful protests last night. CBS News correspondent Dean Reynolds reports Officer Raymond Tensing plans to plead not guilty when he is arraigned later today.

Deflategate goes to court

Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady is vowing to be on the field when the regular NFL season begins. CBS News correspondent Anna Werner reports the NFL Players Association is suing to overturn Commissioner Roger Goodell's four-game suspension of the New England Patriots' star quarterback over the alleged use of deflated footballs in the 2014 AFC Championship game.

Bernie's house parties

Fans of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders are hearing from his campaign after the Vermont senator used live stream technology to deliver a campaign speech to supporters gathered at house parties across the country last night. CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes spoke with Sanders after his speech in Washington, D.C.

Targeting Planned Parenthood

Senate Republicans unveiled a bill yesterday that aims to block any federal dollars from reaching Planned Parenthood. The legislation is a response to a series of undercover videos produced by anti-abortion activists who claim the organization is selling fetal tissue to researchers. Planned Parenthood insists the costs are related only to the handling of the tissue donations and that it has done nothing wrong.

Lessons from "Sesame Street"

Interestingly, one of the first mass attempt to address the educational needs of preschoolers has hardly been studied. As economists at the National Bureau of Economic Research say, "Sesame Street" was the first to try to provide educational opportunities at a fraction of the cost of more traditional classroom settings. Their research attempts to do two things: examine whether mass open online classes can improve education, and assess the degree to which early intervention programs can promote student success later in life.
