"The Scarecrow" will make you think before you eat

(CBS News) Mexican food chain Chipotle recently announced a new mobile game, titled "The Scarecrow," for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The game aims to educate and engage people about food issues, sustainability and knowing where your food comes from. The above film, which coincides with the game's launch, features Fiona Apple singing "Pure Imagination," originally from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." It's both haunting and effective, and is sure to make a lasting impression. Do yourself a favor, and watch the entire clip from start to finish. You won't regret it.

Chipotle has always touted their sustainability and use of chemical and hormone-free food, but this video puts a whole new spin on farm-fresh ingredients. I am not sure what is most disturbing, the perpetually sad face on the scarecrow, the inhumane way the animals are treated -- and the resulting products ((100% beef-ish!) -- or Fiona Apple's eerie cover. Regardless, this video and the accompanying game is sure to be educational.

Bravo, Chipotle, for trying to get people to understand where their food comes from. Maybe former investor McDonalds should follow suit? I've always wondered, "What if McDonalds were organic?" or used farm-raised meat like Chipotle. HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE??? This junk-food junkie would be pretty darn psyched. But getting back on topic, burritos for dinner anyone?
