(CBS/AP) PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Two college students brought new meaning to the phrase "spring-breakers gone wild"  when they were arrested for taunting and trying to steal live alligators from a restaurant's pond in Panama City.

The Panama City News Herald reported Friday that restaurant employees called police after they found two 20-year-olds using raw chicken on a rope to taunt the animals.

The University of Alabama and University of West Georgia students were charged with felony burglary on Tuesday. They were released from jail later that day.

According to the arrest report, the students planned the gator heist by visiting a hunting store and buying the rope and hooks.
