Shirley MacLaine: I still miss Liz Taylor

(CBS News) Legendary entertainer Shirley MacLaine is one of Hollywood's greatest actors and most colorful characters. Throughout her long career, the star has had ties to figures in the Rat Pack, politics, as well as activism. But when asked about whom she misses from her life the most, she named fellow Hollywood great, Elizabeth Taylor, who died last year at the age of 79.

"I miss her," MacLaine said on "CBS This Morning." "We were very good friends from the time...she was 23 and I was 21. We were good buddies. A really wonderful, genuine, very, very talented (actress that) made fun of herself. That was the quality I loved about her the most."

MacLaine also named her ex-husband Steve Parker. The two were married for 30 years and had a famous open relationship.

When asked if she would marry again, MacLaine said she wouldn't, but said her ex-husband helped her early in her career. "He was my kind of protector, guardian, helpmate, companion when I came to Hollywood."

In addition to her acting credits, MacLaine is also a best-selling author with 12 books to her name. Her latest, soon to be released in paperback, is called "I'm Over All That: And Other Confessions."
