Since the 1970s, more than 30 girls and women have disappeared or been found murdered in towns along the 1-45 corridor south of Houston dubbed "the killing fields."
Kevin Edison Smith, who was convicted in April 2012, of the 1996 murder of 13-year-old Krystal Baker, may have had involvement with other unsolved cases.
