Rappers give away turkeys for Thanksgiving

There's a new trend taking over both coasts in the rap community, and this one has nothing to do with Yeezy Adidas or diamond grills.

Rappers Snoop Dogg and Fetty Wap both gave away turkeys to families in Los Angeles and Paterson, New Jersey, respectively, ahead of Thanksgiving.

Fetty Wap handed out 200 turkeys at the Masonic Lodge in Paterson, where he grew up, to anyone who wanted one, reports the North Jersey Record. A local councilwoman, Ruby Cotton, helped Fetty Wap and his lawyer make arrangements to distribute the turkeys.

Cotton said she believes that Fetty Wap will help out the Paterson community for a while.

"I know there's other stuff that's going to happen for us with him," she said.

Meanwhile, on the West Coast, Snoop Dogg helped the city of Inglewood, California, give away turkeys to its neediest residents. On Thursday, he helped hand out 1,500 turkeys to families in need in Inglewood, and took photos with more than 800 people at the event, reports the Huffington Post. City officials said that Snoop asked what he could do to help the Inglewood community, and they asked him to participate in their annual turkey giveaway. He helped at the event last year and plans to help in the future, as well.

Holiday cheer -- that's a trend we can get onboard with.
