NEW YORK (CBS) It's unclear exactly what statement Erykah Badu intended to make with her "Window Seat" video, but she certainly succeeded in getting people to talk about her...and her lady parts.

On her twitter page she said that her intent was to spark a discussion of "groupthink" - whatever that is - but some say it was all a publicity stunt, and a distasteful one at that.

Either way, Badu has now been slapped with a $500 fine, and six months probation.

Others defend the ends, if not the means, saying that freedom of speech should be protected no matter what that speech is.

The video shows Badu walking through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas, where JFK was assassinated in 1963, taking off her clothing as she walks until she is completely nude. She is then "shot" by an unseen gunman near the site where JFK was shot.

Is the fine and probation appropriate for the offense...or should Badu have been lauded for her brave video?

Tell us what you (group)think.
