Mississippi man proposes using newborn daughter's onesie

FORREST COUNTY, Miss. -- Lynleigh Nicole Miles was just a few hours old when she already had a big question for her mom.

CBS affiliate WHLT reports that Lynleigh's father, Michael Miles from Mississippi, wanted to propose to his girlfriend Triston Lowery. And he conjured up the idea to use their new baby girl to help him pop the question.

Michael's mom came up with the idea to use a onesie that said on the front, "Will you marry my daddy?"

In a video that has now gone viral, Michael and Lynleigh teamed up for the big moment.

WHLT reports that even the nurses were in on the proposal. They told Triston they were taking Lynleigh to do a hearing test.

"They really didn't take her to a hearing test. They went in the hall and changed her onesie ... They handed her to me and they didn't have her blanket on her so I was confused," Triston told WHLT.

The moment she read the front of the onesie, it all came together. Triston said yes.

The hospital room proposal has over 1.5 million views on Facebook.

"It's the happiest I have been in awhile," said Michael. "But at the same time the tiredest."

The new parents say they will start planning a wedding after finishing school.

"She will definitely be in it," Triston said.

"Yes most definitely," Michael agreed.
