Networks To Air Katrina Benefit

Shelter From The Storm, Hurricane Katrina CBS Benefit Event AP

Sheryl Crow, the Dixie Chicks, Alicia Keys, Randy Newman, Paul Simon, Rod Stewart and Neil Young are among the performers scheduled to appear on Shelter From the Storm: A Concert For Hurricane Relief -- a live, one-hour primetime special benefiting the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

In a cooperative and collaborative effort, the program will be simulcast commercial-free on Friday, Sept. 9, from 8 to 9 p.m. on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The WB and UPN. The broadcast can also be seen live on the Web at CBSNews.com.

The entertainment special/fundraising event will salute the citizens in the devastated areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama and pay tribute to the rescue personnel guiding relief efforts in the region.

The program will be broadcast on programming services in the U.S. and to at least 95 counties around the world.

Celebrities scheduled to appear live from locations in Los Angeles and New York include Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Ellen DeGeneres, Jack Nicholson, Chris Rock, Ray Romano and Sela Ward.
