(CBS/AP) FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Police say 39-year-old Stephen Dale Sterling, who was reported missing in Arizona, has been found dead hanging from a highway billboard.

Coconino County sheriff's officials say the body was discovered hanging from a Flagstaff billboard on Monday and the death is likely a suicide.

A motorist driving on Interstate 40 around 1 p.m. Monday spotted what looked like a body hanging from a stationary billboard and called 911.

Investigators say it appears the body had been hanging for hours.

Sterling had last been seen at a campsite in Winona.

His body has been taken to the county's medical examiner's office for a determination on the exact cause of death.
