(CBS) MINNEAPOLIS - As the search continues for Kira Trevino, a missing 30-year-old Minnesota woman, prosecutors say her husband, who is charged with her murder, poses a flight risk, CBS Minnesota reports.
A judge agreed with prosecutors Thursday and refused a defense request to lower Jeffery Trevino's $1 million bail.
Prosecutors say they believe Jeffery Trevino, 39, is a flight risk because he called his family from jail and asked them to bring him a briefcase that had his passport in it, the station reports.
He was not aware that police had already confiscated it.
Kira Trevino was last seen the night of Feb. 21 as she left work at the Mall of America, but authorities found so much blood in her car and home in St. Paul that they believe she is dead. Jeffery Trevino was charged on Feb. 28 with two counts of second-degree murder in her death.
In court on Thursday, it was revealed that the blood spatter found in the Trevino's bedroom matched the DNA of Kira.
Jeffery Trevino's next court date is scheduled for March 29. A plea could be entered at that time.
