Industry Moves: ExtendMedia; AKQA; Yahoo

ExtendMedia: Former *AOL* exec Tom MacIsaac has joined the digital video tech firm as CEO. He'd most recently served as president of strategic advisory firm Cove Street Partners; prior to Cove Street, MacIsaac oversaw M&A activity for AOL's Platform-A (NYSE: TWX) as SVP of strategy and corporate development. He joined *AOL* after its acquisition of broadband video firm Lightningcast in 2006, where he'd served as CEO. Release.

AKQA: Digitas exec Jim Rossman has joined rival digital shop AKQA as COO. Rossman had been with Digitas since 2001, most recently serving as COO of the Publicis-owned agency. AKQA CEO Tom Bedecarre told AdAge that the agency needed another senior member on its executive team, particularly as it eyed "other acquisition and geographic opportunities."

Yahoo: Longtime tech vet Venkat Panchapakesan is leaving Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), per AllThingsD. As EVP of the Audience Technology Group, Panchapakesan has been involved in the development of the infrastructure that powered products like Flickr and Yahoo Answers. He first joined the company in 1998; he left to head up Yahoo India R&D as CEO in 2003, then rejoined in 2006. Panchapakesan is headed back to India by the end of the year, per an official company statement: "After two years of commuting back and forth from India to Sunnyvale, Venkat will be moving back to India to live with his family permanently."
