Mondays just won't be the same without "How I Met Your Mother."
The CBS sitcom, which saw its final episode air last week after nine seasons, left many viewers divided: some loved it, others thought it was far from legendary.
Although co-creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays said they shot the final scene many years ago (for fear that Ted's children would look older), it now comes out that they had two different endings and were trying to decide between them -- up until the very end.
So anyway, here's a bit of news: 16 days ago today we were in the HIMYM edit room, trying to decide between two very different endings.— Carter Bays (@CarterBays) April 4, 2014
We only shot one script, but through edit room magic we had two possible outcomes for the series.— Carter Bays (@CarterBays) April 4, 2014
We chose the ending we chose and we stand by it. But we loved the other version too.— Carter Bays (@CarterBays) April 4, 2014
And lucky for us -- we'll get to see the alternate ending on the upcoming "HIMYM" DVD collection, due out this fall.
Tell us: Did you like the ending to "How I Met Your Mother"?
