"Girl Meets World" is officially happening.

The Disney Channel has picked up the highly anticipated "Boy Meets World" spinoff to series, it was announced Monday.

"Girl Meets World" will focus on Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), the daughter of now-grown-up "Boy Meets World" couple Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel).

Riley is a "curious and bright 7th grader" navigating middle school with her "quick-witted" best friend, Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), according to Deadline. Cory is his daughter's new history teacher, while Topanga owns a trendy after-school hangout spot that specializes in pudding.

The show, which begins production this summer in Los Angeles, will premiere on the Disney Channel in 2014.
