'GH' Cleans Up At Soap Awards

General Hospital' is still the favorite among soap opera fans.

The ABC soap has taken home the coveted favorite show trophy for the third straight year at the annual Soap Opera Digest Awards.

It collected a leading five awards at the ceremony in Los Angeles.

ABC's All My Children had four awards, including outstanding younger lead actor and actress. And ABC's One Life to Live picked up three, as the network dominated the competition.

Maurice Benard won favorite actor for playing Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital.

And Sarah Brown won favorite actress for her role as Carly Quartermaine on "General Hospital.''

Winners were selected by the readers of Soap Opera Digest. The show was broadcast on NBC.

ABC won a total of 13 awards, with One Life to Live and Port Charles rounding out the network's winners.

CBS took home two awards: Outstanding Male Newcomer for David Tom of The Young and the Restless.and Outstanding Lead Actress for Kim Zimmer of Guiding Light.

Josh Ryan Evans, who plays Timmy on NBC's Passions, won for Outstanding Scene Stealer.
