Find Misplaced Cell Phones with Where's My Cell Phone?

Last Updated Mar 4, 2008 9:00 AM EST

Can't find your phone? It's probably in a forgotten pocket or between the couch cushions or on the floor under your desk (how does it keep getting there?). The tried-and-truth method of finding a misplaced phone is to call it, then follow the ring. Ah, but what if there's no phone handy? Well, if there's a computer handy, you can head to Where's My Cell Phone?, input your number, and let it do the dialing.

This free service promises that it doesn't keep a record of any numbers, so you shouldn't have to worry about crazy telemarketing scams. I tried it out and it instantly rang my number, so it could come in handy if you're in a hurry and desperately trying to find your lost phone.

Of course, if your phone goes missing in a more permanent way, here's hoping you affixed a StuffBak sticker first. [via Crave]
