Female Calif. duo allegedly stole more than 2 dozen cars

HAYWARD, Calif. -- Two California women have been accused of stealing more than two dozen cars, reports CBS San Francisco.

The duo, 33-year-old Erin Ellis and 25-year-old Jessica Adkins, were reportedly seen moving property between some of the stolen vehicles - outside the same Hayward Jack in the Box restaurant, on two different days.

Hayward is about 25 miles southeast of San Francisco.

The women were seen taking property out of one stolen vehicle and putting it into another before fleeing in one of the stolen cars, leaving the other behind, reports the station. The next day, at the same Jack In the Box parking lot, the pair was seen again moving property between stolen cars.

"It's unusual that we would find them in the same place, doing the same thing day after day," Tasha DeCosta of the Hayward Police Department told the station.

The two were later arrested at a home. Adkins reportedly became combative and had to be retrained during her arrest.

"It was a whole drama. We thought it was a movie," Anu Peshawria, a neighbor, told the station.
