Vlade Divac of the Sacramento Kings will replace the injured Shaquille O'Neal on the West team in the NBA All-Star game Sunday.

Divac, added to the team Wednesday by NBA commissioner David Stern, will make his first All-Star appearance. The 12-year veteran is averaging 10.4 points and 7.9 rebounds this season.

O'Neal is out with a strained arch in his right foot. West coach Rick Adelman of Sacramento will decide who will replace O'Neal in the starting lineup.

"I'm very excited," Divac said Wednesday in Minneapolis before the Kings' game against the Timberwolves. "I was close a couple of times. When Shaq went down, I knew they needed a big guy, and I found myself with a good chance."
