NEW YORK (CBS) A picture Paris Hilton posted about a month and a half ago may come back to haunt her.

The picture shows off a purse that looks similar to the one Hilton was carrying (and denied that it belonged to her) when she was arrested for cocaine possession.

"Love My New Chanel Purse I got Today. :)," she wrote on her under a photo of the purse she posted on Twitpic on July 15.

In pictures posted on TMZ.com of Hilton on the night of her arrest, the socialite is seen carrying a bag that looks like the one in the picture.

Hilton was arrested on Aug. 27 in Las Vegas after police pulled over the car in which she was riding when an officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Police say a bag containing 0.8 of a gram of cocaine fell out when Hilton reached into a purse for lip balm.

An officer's report states that Hilton denied the purse was hers, saying that she borrowed it from a friend. She also said that she thought the cocaine was gum.

Her boyfriend, Cy Waits, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence.

Hilton has an Oct. 27 court date. The drug charge carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison if convicted.
