Congress Studies Veterans' Suicides

During a congressional hearing today in Washington, the Department of Veterans Affairs was asked to step up its efforts to prevent veteran suicides.

At the center of the discussion was a CBS News investigation which showed those who have served in the military are dying of suicide at rates much higher than the civilian population.

Rep. Bob Filner (D-CA) said our report "opened up again to millions of Americans the issue of suicides amongst our veterans."
