LOS ANGELES (CBS/NNS) A man wandering a neighborhood with a gun caused a huge police response in a Los Angeles, California suburb on Tuesday afternoon. Police say the man wandered the streets, firing a gun into homes.
Sixty police officers, a SWAT team, and a police helicopter converged on the area. Los Angeles Police Officer Karen Rayner says the 34-year-old man also shot at SWAT team members as they moved in.
The people who live in the neighborhood say they know the man, claiming he had recently lost his job and is married with children. Police say alcohol and depression fueled the incident.
The man eventually surrendered. No one was injured.
