Britney Spears releases "Ooh La La" for "Smurfs 2" soundtrack

Britney Spears is getting into the Smurfs spirit.

The pop singer and former "X Factor" judge's new single "Ooh La La"surfaced online Friday. The song will be featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming film, "The Smurfs 2."

Starring Neil Patrick Harris and Sofia Vergara, the first "Smurfs" film became a box office smash when it was released in 2011, taking in over $563 million in global box office ticket sales.

Spears, who is expected to begin work next week with will.i.am on her eighth studio album, isn't the only big name pop star connected to the "Smurfs" franchise. Katy Perry lends her voice to the film series in the role of Smurfette.

"The Smurfs 2" hits theaters on July 31.
