Bindi & Terri Attend Kids Choice Awards

Bindi and Terry Irwin, the daughter and widow of the late croc hunter, Steve Irwin, attended Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards in Sydney last night.

Bindi's attendance at the event marked the first time the 8-year-old has appeared since her father's public memorial service held at Australia Zoo in late September.

"I'm feeling pretty good," she said to News.com.au. "It's kind of sad that he couldn't be here but it's nice that I could do it."

Asked how she was holding up, Terri Irwin told News.com.au: "It's wonderful to have a focus on a special night and I know Steve would have been really proud. Bindi's been looking forward to this for a long time so we're really glad to be here."

News.com.au reports that Steve Irwin was to attend last night's awards ceremony with his daughter.

Children in the audience yelled, "We love you, Bindi!" as the little girl walked on stage to present the last award of the night — Favorite Aussie award — to Australian singer Guy Sebastian, the paper said.

Bindi and her mother also got slimed (doused with green goo) at the event, which is a Nickelodeon tradition.
