(CBS/AP) ELLENWOOD, Ga. - Police are searching for a 14-year-old girl after they say home invaders abducted her from her house south of Atlanta.

Police early Tuesday morning were stopping cars and checking them during an all-out search for Ayvani Hope Perez.

Clayton County police say the two men entered the Ellenwood home through a back door around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Officer Phong Nguyen said the home invaders demanded money and jewelry from the girl's mother. When the woman said she didn't have any, one of the men shot and killed the family dog.

Police say they then took the girl, described as Hispanic, with brown eyes and black hair. She's 4 feet, 9 inches tall and 93 pounds. She was wearing pajama bottoms and a "Superheroes" shirt.

Police say the men left in a grey Dodge.
