App lets you create customized shoes from Instagram pics

If you ever wanted to have a picture of your cat or that awesome vacation photo that would make your friends jealous on your sneakers, look no further than your phone.

This summer, Adidas Originals is rolling out "Mi Adidas" -- an app that will allow users to customize their sneakers using their Instagram pics.

Users can select any photo to get printed on the company's popular ZX Flux shoes. There's no price tag for the customized shoes yet, but a regular pair of ZX Flux retail for about $85.

"For the sneaker lovers, it's an exciting chance to make a statement that's all your own, following in the footsteps of the sellout ZX Flux Photo Print Prism shoe released in April," the company said on its website.

Adidas announced the app with an Instagram video.

The app will be available for the iPhone and Android in August.
