"American Horror Story: Coven" adds Angela Bassett and Patti LuPone

Ryan Murphy has some more "American Horror Story" casting news to share.

The "AHS" creator took to Twitter to announce that Angela Bassett and Patti LuPone will be joining the new season, which is subtitled "Coven."

"Two legends are joining the cast of American Horror Story: Coven -- Oscar nominee Angela Bassett and Tony winner Patti LuPone!" he wrote.

They'll join previously announced newcomers Kathy Bates and Gabourey Sidibe, as well as returning cast members Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Taissa Farmiga and Frances Conroy.

The third "American Horror Story" season is set to debut this fall.
