Amal Alamuddin's fashionable wedding weekend

It was a big weekend for George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin -- and a stylish one too.

The actor's new wife hit a series of fashion high notes in Venice, stepping out wearing top designers for various wedding festivities.

Here's a look at the highlights from her high-fashion weekend:

On Friday, Alamuddin kicked off the wedding weekend in a black-and-white striped Dolce & Gabbana dress, paired with round sunglasses. She was also carrying what looked to be a hat box emblazoned with a flourished "A" leaning against a block letter "G" -- for Amal and George, we're guessing!

Later that evening, the London-based human rights lawyer, 36, opted for a custom red Alexander McQueen gown with a high-low hemline and a floral print. (See a photo of that look here.)

After saying "I do" Saturday in an intimate ceremony at Venice's Aman Canal Grande resort, the couple made their first public appearance as Mr. and Mrs. Clooney. For that, she wore a cream-colored Giambattista Valli Couture mini dress with floral appliques and another high-low hemline.

And on Monday morning the newlyweds stepped out again, this time to officially wed in a civil ceremony at Venice's town hall. Naturally, the bride wore white -- a short-sleeved suit (designed by Stella McCartney), paired with a wide-brimmed hat.

The only thing missing? A glimpse at her Oscar de la Renta-designed wedding gown. WWD reports that People magazine has nabbed the rights to Clooney and Alamuddin's wedding photos, so chances are we won't have to wait too long to see what the bride wore on the big day.
