ABC reschedules bomb-themed episode of "Castle"

An upcoming episode of "Castle" that has a bombing story line has been delayed in light of Monday's tragedy at the Boston Marathon.

According to EW.com, ABC has rescheduled a bomb-themed episode of the popular crime drama, titled "Still," which was set to air this coming Monday. It will now air on April 29.

The episode depicts Beckett (Stana Katic) stepping on a pressure sensitive bomb. Her team searches for a way to disarm the explosive and Castle (Nathan Fillion) argues with Beckett about who fell for whom first in an effort to distract her from the life-threatening situation.

"Castle" star Katic also confirmed the news on her Twitter page, writing, "ABC Pulls Monday's Bomb-Themed #Castle http://t.co/xj3FweEzWn Yes. Out of respect. Please note that the chronology will b off."

In its place, the network will air another new episode, titled "The Squab and the Quail," which was scheduled to run the week after "Still." In "Squab," Beckett is assigned to protect a charming billionaire entrepreneur whose life is in danger.

Following the events at the Boston Marathon on Monday, networks have been carefully watching the tone of their programming. Fox pulled an episode of "Family Guy" from rotation and online viewing that depicted Peter Griffin hitting marathoners with his car after YouTube users manipulated the video. NBC shifted its schedule to broadcast a one-hour NBC News report at 10 p.m. ET on Monday, pushing "Revolution" off its schedule and subsequently delaying the Season 1 finale.

"Castle" airs Mondays, 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
